About Us
Applying to college is an exciting and nerve-wracking time. Applying to music school presents additional obstacles and planning, for both students and their families. We know, because we’ve been through the process ourselves, both professionally and personally.
Meet Jacob Kovacs
My name is Jacob. My clients, friends and colleagues call me Jack. I’m a multi-instrumentalist, bandleader, composer, producer and arranger based in Los Angeles, CA. From 2006-2010 I attended the USC Thornton School of Music, where I earned my Bachelor of Music Degree in Studio/Jazz Guitar.
In my career I’ve worked with an estimable roster of artists, including Lady Gaga, Bloodpop, Masego, Matt Maeson, Rozzi Crane, Harry Mack, Rozwell Fitzroy, and countless others. I've performed guitar on television's "Glee" and "Vanderpump Rules". I am also an established recording artist, having produced and published three EPs under my own name. I am privileged to have attended music school, amassing the tools and the network necessary to forge a career in music.
Teaching and mentorship have been at the heart of my career since day one, having taught hundreds of students in numerous settings, most notably as a member of the writing and instruction team for the Fender Play guitar learning app. In founding SoundBound Prep, I hope to work with determined and passionate musicians; ones that are driven to not just play music, but hoping to make it their life’s work.
